Balloon Festival Engagement

This series resonated a lot with me since it was a long distance couple finally sealing the deal. The St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu Balloon Festival was part of their master plan and got me very excited. The challenge required great timing for the fast balloon take off and intimacy in a very crowded place that could easily lead to shyness. Having once celebrated my relationship anniversary with my wife once at the festival, I tried reproducing the feeling I had when I experienced the event then (watching the balloons and enjoying the fare).

The photoshoot was itself very symbolic with hints to their life stories (they will unite first in China) and the playful contrast of their personalities on the environment.
